Teach Tábhairne

Taking the small, golden handle in her hand Emma twisted the knob and pushed the door open, resting her hand against it to hold it open whilst she walked inside. Wandering into the small, wooden decorated pub Emma inhaled the musty, old smell that clung to the surrounding seats and bar. Feeling rather hyperactive and happy that she would be able to spend some time with Katy and find out more about her best friends future wife she smiled. Entering the lounge area Emma ran her hand across the beautifully decorated wall. Nodding and smiling at each group of people scattered all over the pub Emma found herself being over crowded with polite response of "Evening!" and "How are ya Emma?" Grinning at them again she shuffled over to the bar and hopped up onto one of the comfortable stools situated in front of it. "Hey Shane." she smiled as a tall, dark haired fellow appeared on the other side of the bar. Turning to Katy she called her over. "Come on slow coach." she giggled softly gesturing with her hand for Katy to come and sit beside her.

Katy looked around nervously, before quickly scuttling over to where Emma was situated. Please don't leave me like that again. Katy waved her hands around in her face to try and calm herself down a little, as she looked around the pub, feeling people's eyes on her, but not seeing anyone look at her.

"aww sorry. I didn't mean to." Emma replied hugging Katy. "Now soon to be Mrs Flynn what would you like to drink?" Emma asked pulling away from their hug and grinning at Katy. "I'm going to be weird and have a pint of Guinness because it is brewed amazingly here.. in comparison to other pubs around Dublin..." she waffled on. "anyhow..." she stopped herself from babbling and leaned her elbow on the surface of the bar and rested her head onto her hand. "what do you want? my treat." she smiled.

Katy smiled at Emma. You don't half chat sometimes. She stated. Can I just have an orange juice, not really much of a drinker at the minute. She looked at Emma as she grinned away. Mrs.Flynn to be sounds so weird.

Emma shook her head at Katy a small smile creeping across her face. "I do not half chat sometimes." she stated looking over Katy's shoulder and watching as Shane wandered across the pub and collected a selection of glasses from the empty table. "I waffle ... I waffle because i love waffles." she giggled returning her attention to Katy a huge grin plastered on her rosy, oval face. "An orange juice it is Mrs Flynn to be." she winked sitting up right and stretching her neck to find Shane. "can i ask why you aren't much of a drinker recently? any particular reason?" she questioned a few explanations springing to mind. Waving her hands in the air to catch Shane's attention Emma stood up balancing her weight on the small bar that connected two of the legs together. "SHANE!" she called cupping her hands over her mouth so the sound would travel across the pub over to the area in which Shane was situated. "Over here when you can please Mr." she laughed poking her tongue out at him as he shook his head and rolled his eyes at her.

Katy giggled at Emma. Waffles are nice, I do have to admit. Well, it makes me sick if I drink it at the minute, that's all. Katy knew what Emma was hinting at, and also knew she wast but didn't want to tell Emma just yet. You need to be careful, standing on bar stools like that, you might fall off you know. She giggled at Emma, she seemed to be on a rather big high.

Emma flopped back down her seat and grinned at Katy. "I won't fall off I do it all the time when i come here. Mostly to annoy Shaney." she cackled noticing him shaking his head at her as he cleared away the rest of the empty glasses from the table alongside her and Katy. "I do though." she said over at him knowing he had over heard her. Spinning back to Katy she smiled at her. "Waffles are amazing. Especially Mrs Flynn's ... I'll have to get her to make you some." she giggled resting her hand on the bar and drumming her fingers along it in time with the rhythm of the playing song. "ooooooh." she exclaimed raising her eyebrows at Katy. "Sick ... whilst drinking ay?" she smirked.

Emma you are crazy you know. She watched this Shane shaking his head at her. Any reason why you wind him up. She asked, trying to take the topic of situation around from her. Yeah I think it might be the gas in it really, they just make me really ill. She shrugged. Waffles, yes please, I will be speaking nicely to my mum-to-be. She giggled at Emma again. Hurry up with my drink will you. She smiled swetly at the bar man.

"I'm not crazy just very hyperactive because my two best friends are getting married tomorrow." she giggled clasping her hands together in anticipation. "It's going to be sooo much fun." she smiled her eyes following Shane as he wandered back behind the bar and began preparing the girls drinks. "er...no." she stuttered her cheeks turning a faint pink colour. "I just annoy him.. to annoy him." she informed knowing that was definitely not a great or even plausible explanation why she wound Shane up. "anyway..." she trailed off pulling her eye contact away from Shane and focusing on Katy again.

Katy giggled at her. Well yeah we are, but I'm not even that hyper you know. She looked from Shane to Emma. She moved closer to Emma. I know you like him, don't lie to me girly. She whispered in Emma's ear. Anyway what. I have no secrets to tell. She smiled up at Emma, still trying to put her of the scent.

Emma blushed violently on hearing that Katy, who had only been in the environment with Shane and Emma for a few minutes, now knew her feelings for Shane. "sssssh." she hushed swatting her hand in the air to make Katy lower the volume of her voice. "I do not like him." she added shaking her head in denial. "you do have secrets to tell, I can tell." Emma laughed returning to her usual hyper self and completely pretending Shane did not exist so as to not loose her composure any further. Shane shuffled around behind the bar before strolling over to the two young ladies. "Hello." he grinned resting his hands on the bar as he approached them. "What can I get you ladies to drink?" he questioned glancing between Katy and Emma. Emma remained silent and refused to meet eye contact with him so simply stayed seated facing Katy.

Katy giggled at Emma's response. Can we get an orange juice and a pint of guiness please. She smiled at Shane before turning her attention back to Emma. She leaned forward close to Emma's face. I know you do. So if you tell me your secret I will tell you mine. She whispered very silently in Emma's ear, smiling at Shane as he placed the drinks in front of them.

Emma shook her head at Katy. "I can't!" she mumbled noticing Shane in the corner of her eye.
"Here you go ladies." Shane spoke in a rough, husky Irish accent as he placed the glasses in front of both Emma and Katy.
"Thanks." Emma replied not looking at him as she shoved the money into his hand and lifted her pint off the bar.
"So...who's this lovely lady that you are with Emma?" Shane asked looking at Katy and smiling at her as he forced the till open and threw the money inside. Emma didn't answer him she couldn't she felt too nervous knowing that Katy had discovered her true affections for Shane. Emma knew full well that Katy could possibly persuade her to tell him but for some reason she did not have the confidents to admit her feelings. Pulling her drink up to her lips she took a sip of it her facial expression remaining blank.

Katy looked at Emma, noticing her silence. I'm Nicky's fiancee. She smiled, it was the first time she'd actually said that. It's nice to meet you Shane. She turned her attention back to Emma. Let's go sit over there. She pointed over to the table right in the corner, before picking her drink up and walked over to the table, gesturing Emma to follow her.

"aww congratulations. Nice to meet you." Shane smiled before returning to his work.
Emma nodded slowly in response to Katy, slightly oblivious to what was happening around her as she remained trapped in her thoughts. Standing from her seat she wandered over to where Katy was sitting and crashed down beside her a huge sigh falling from her mouth.
"God that was awkward." she eventually spoke placing her pint onto the table in front of her.
