Teach Tábhairne

Katy smiled as Emma sat down. So you do like him. She asked, wanting to help Emma out with her little problem. Tell me more about this little thing, I'll help you out. She shuffled closer to Emma, sipping her orange juice. And I will tell you my little secret once we've sorted.

"well.... i think i like him... I'm not sure." Emma paused returning to her thoughts. "I do think he's really fit." she commented glancing over at Shane as a huge smile appeared on her face. "but... do i like him?" she sort of asked herself turning back to Katy and sighing.

Katy looked at her, thinking for a minute. Well does he make you smile when you look at him, make you knees feel weak, make your stomach turn, etc etc. She asked, knowing they were normally good signs for liking someone.

"oh my..." Emma gasped. "he does all of that." she half whined knowing that eventually she would have to pluck up the courage and tell Shane. "I think i like him... no .. i now know i like him." Emma waffled on trying to come to the correct conclusion of whether she liked Shane or not. "I'm not telling him." she stated looking at Katy. "I can't! ... I'll just make a fool of myself and waffle and ... he doesn't like me... look at him." she said slyly pointing in the direction of Shane. "I'm not pretty enough for him and he probably thinks I'm strange and ... he could also possibly have a girlfriend." she informed her facial expression falling blank as she worried about whether her liked her.

Emma, calm down, just go and talk to him, don't worry about how he reacts for now, you don't know anything until you try. She smiled reassuringly at Emma. Then once you've talked to him about his life, then you'll know where to go from there. She smiled at Emma, hoping she'd now go over to Shane and talk to him. I'll get on the phone to Steve, so not to look to suspicous. They should have landed by now, and she'd expected him to call her, so she needed to ring them anyway.

"I can't ... I... I'll just stutter and mumble and waffle .. like I'm doing right know just thinking about talking to him." Emma's eyes widened as she realised how stupid she sounded. "ok." she breathed in and out deeply slowly releasing the air from her lungs as she did so. Standing up she forced a smile and began walking over to Shane, but as he turned to face her she spun directly back to Katy and scurried back to her seat. "Nope... still can't do it." she said flopping into her chair again. "How should I start the conversation?" she asked unsure. "I'm usually not like this around him ... usually we just talk and talk and laugh and stuff... but now... i don't know... i suppose i feel nervous talking to him." she sighed leaning back in her seat.

Katy laughed at Emma. Tell him that you came over because I was being ignorant as I'll be on the phone, anything to start it. She looked over at Shane who she noticed was beginning to stare more and more at them. He's looking over, don't look, just take a few deep breathes and let me ring Steve and then go over. She picked her phone up and began to dial Steve's number, smiling at Emma.

"oh ok." Emma replied breathing deeply trying to regain her composure and become focused so that she did not make a complete fool of herself. Watching as Katy punched the numbers into her phone she waited a few seconds before standing up. "this is it." she muttered to herself approaching Shane. "Hey Shane." she grinned jumping up onto the stool and swinging her legs round so they were under the counter. "Can I talk to you .. coz Katy over there is being mean and talking on the phone." she glanced over at katy and pretended to tut but really she flashed her a thankful smile. Turning back to Shane the pair smiled at each other and the conversation began flowing during which Emma found herself growing less and less nervous around him and more and more confident to admit her feelings for him.

Katy looked over at Emma and smiled before her brother picked up the phone. Just tell me you made it. Where the first words that came from her mouth and she sighed in relief when they had, they'd booked a b&b next to a pub, and for some reason, she recognised the name, then it clicked, the b&b was next to the pub she was in. She told them to go in to the pub and placed the phone down, excited that she would see her family so soon.

Grinning from ear to ear Emma felt herself blush as Shane provided her with a sweet comment. "Thank you." she smiled at him staring into his dark eyes. "Shane?" she said in a questioning tone her knees quaking as she realised she was about to ask him out. "Shane will you go out with me?" she said the words literally rolling off her tongue at a rapid pace. Shane giggled at her and nodded. "I'd love to." he replied leaning across the bar and pecking Emma's cheek. Shocked and surprised Emma blinked at Shane. "really?" she blurted out her mouth falling slightly agape. "yes really!" he chuckled scribbling his number down on the back of a beer mat and handing it to her. "Call me." he grinned before wandering away to serve and impatient customer who had been constantly tutting at the pair. Jumping off the stool she raced over to Katy and dropped the beer mat onto the table. "He said yes." she squealed giggling happily as she sat back beside Katy. "thank you Katy!" she grinned hugging katy tightly.

Katy smiled as Emma joined her, throwing a beer mat on the table with some numbers on it. Emma I'm so pleased for you. She threw her arms around Emma, brimming with happiness. She looked up as the door opened. Steve. She shouted at, rushing over to him, hugging him then pulling him over to the table. Steve, Emma. Emma, Steve. You may have seen her around school before. She smiled at them both, before her parents joined them. Katy introduced them to Emma.

Emma looked at each of Katy's family members and attempted to absorb their facial features so that she could recognise them instantly the next time she was acquainted with them. Looking over at Steve she grinned and nodded at him. "Hi." she smiled before turning to Katy's parents. "Its so lovely to meet you all." she said placing her hand before Katy's father, in order for him to take it.

Daniel took her hand. 'So you are Nicky's right hand lady.' Lucy asked her. Steve just looked around, he only came because Katy begged him too. Let's go back to Linda's house, you can get properly acquainted with Nicky and Linda. She smiled at them all as she sipped the rest of her drink. Emma I'll talk to you later I promise. She remembered she promised to tell Emma her secret.

Emma chuckled blushing slightly. "I am yes." she replied to Lucy. Turning to Katy, she flashed a smile at Steve, before shaking her head at Katy. "You better had young lady." Emma giggled poking her tongue out at Katy.

I will I promise. She poked her tongue out at Emma. Right let's go then, I feel quite tired you know and you lot need to meet Nicky's mum she's lovely. Katy smiled, just wanting to get back to Nicky's warm embrace now. Everyone stood up smiling as they left the pub.
